Personal data policy

I am Carlos Federico Gómez, based in Bogotá, Colombia, and SintéticaLab is my project. I am the controller of any personal data received through sinteticalab.com and its subdomains.

This policy follows Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 (now part of Decree 1074 of 2015) and other Colombian data protection rules.

What data is collected

When you browse the site. The site uses no cookies, has no forms, no analytics or advertising tools, and loads no third-party resources: fonts, charts and scripts are served from the site’s own domain. Your browser keeps two preferences in its local storage: the language of the last page you opened (Spanish or English), so the projects open in that language, and whether you paused the motion on the home page. That data never leaves your device.

Like any web server, the hosting server logs technical data for each visit: IP address, date and time, requested page and browser type. This is used to run and protect the site, and the provider keeps it under its own policies.

If you write by email. Your name, your email address and the content of your message.

In the demos. The published projects do not ask for personal data.

What it is used for

To reply to your message and continue the conversation you started. It is not used for advertising and it is never sold or handed to third parties.

Next to the site’s contact buttons there is a notice linking to this policy. Writing after seeing it is the authorization to process your data for that purpose (article 7 of Decree 1377 of 2013), and the message itself serves as proof of it. My first reply will remind you of this policy, and you can withdraw your authorization at any time.

Who it is shared with

Only with the infrastructure providers, acting as processors:

  • Hostinger: website hosting.
  • Amazon Web Services: domain DNS and hosting for some demos.
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365): email.

Some of those servers are outside Colombia, in countries with recognized protection levels or under the provider’s contractual safeguards.

How long it is kept

For as long as the conversation lasts and up to two years after the last contact. You can ask for it to be deleted sooner.

Your rights

As the data subject you can:

  • Access, update and correct your data.
  • Ask for proof of the authorization you gave.
  • Know how your data has been used.
  • Withdraw your authorization or ask for deletion, unless there is a legal or contractual duty to keep it.
  • Access it free of charge.
  • File complaints with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC).

How to exercise them

Write to federico@sinteticalab.com with your name, your request and how you want to receive the answer.

  • Inquiries: answered within 10 business days at most, extendable by 5 more if needed, with prior notice.
  • Claims (correction, update or deletion): answered within 15 business days at most, extendable by 8 more, with prior notice.

If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can go to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only, with security headers, and keeps no visitor databases. If you find a vulnerability, write to the same address.

Changes to this policy

This policy has been in force since October 9, 2026. Any change is published on this page with its update date.
